ABU DHABI RACE GUIDE GET THE GUIDE

The Abu Dhabi GP on a budget

Updated 6 November 2026 · Checked against official sources

Yas Island hotels can cost a fortune in race week, but the race itself doesn't have to. Here is how to keep the cost down.

1. Pick the cheapest ticket that suits you

2. Stay off Yas Island

In 2025, three nights at big Yas Island hotels ran into tens of thousands of dirhams. Staying in Abu Dhabi city, Al Raha or even Dubai and travelling in each day usually costs far less. Compare a few areas in our hotels guide, and see Dubai to Yas Marina if you stay there.

3. Use the free transport

4. Plan your daily spending

Budget planners suggest roughly AED 200 a day for a budget traveller, AED 400 mid-range and AED 800 high-end, on top of tickets and hotel. Food and drink inside the circuit costs more than outside. Outside food isn't allowed in, so eat well before you go.

5. Book the free extras

With a 4-day ticket, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Qasr Al Watan, Zayed National Museum and Natural History Museum are free, and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is always free to visit.
